I found the Forge fascinating. Apparently, this is the last working water powered forge in England. The water mill provides the power and energy to a hugh tilt hammer and I was lucky to see a demonstration. This gave a tiny glimpse into what is was like to work in the forge. The noise was unbearable but in its heyday employed many men and women working from six in the morning to six in the evening. Eventually the building foundations gave way and it fell down. It was an interesting place to visit.
