The Gazweasel Times

Granny's Bonnet

I was forced into the garden this morning to weed under the scorching sun. Upon glancing up from my prone position, I spotted one of the Aquilegia looking delicate and sweet. I forgot about the weeding for a second while I snapped away. The white bit of fluff on the buds is from the hornbeam in the garden. Every year, about this time, it springs forth and multiplies. It's like snow and it covers everything for miles around. I am surprised there's not lots more hornbeams around here.
