Elvis Has Left The Building

This picture is supposed to show the Royal Standard being lowered over Westminster Abbey as the monarch leaves the building.The Royal Standard came down and the Abbey's standard went up (I think); but because Westminster Abbey is a royal peculiar and can fly the Royal Standard anytime, and its own standard is pretty much indistinguishable from the Royal Standard, all was a fairly pointless exercise. Still, nice day for a trip to the roof of the abbey.

We heard the peel of bells welcoming HM Queen who was there for a birthday bash. You know, jelly, ice creams, spin the bottle, car keys in the fruit bowl, all that sort of carry on. Its only 8 days to the royal wedding and apparently it was a kind of technical and security dress rehearsal.

It was my friend Andy's birthday as well so I gave him a call. Deaths and birthdays are the only time we speak.
