From noon to three, the whole earth was dark.

Around mid-afternoon Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"

I always find it hard to get my head around Good Friday, but something our vicar said today really made me catch my breath.

Whatever I'm feeling, however I feel I've messed up, however let down I feel - Good Friday means there is a God who gets that. Who put himself through so much worse so that I don't have to ever feel abandoned.
