Comfrey
Went up to the allotment for a good session of digging, weeding, clipping, sowing, watering (my gosh, it's been dry), etc, etc. It was pleasing to see that the entire feeder had been emptied of bird seed and that there was a queue of a dozen sparrows sitting on a nearby hedge staring at DH until he'd refilled it. This is the first year we've had resident spudgers at the allotment, which, since they have been in decline nationally, is a very cheery thing.
I cut some of the over-exuberant comfrey to put in the compost bin and disturbed a couple of large bumblebees who were having a great time amongst the flowers. I tried to blip them but they bumbled off, leaving us with the comfrey.
(When I got home last night I was so shocked at the prospect of having eleven days off work that I drank wine, watched an episode of Generation Kill and didn't manage to upload a blip before becoming comatose.)
