Wallace Monument, Stirling

Was getting a bit concerned this afternoon as no Blip had presented itself. Possibly because we were babysitting last night and were much later than usual in turning in, hence the lack of sleep. The morning started quite early as we headed south to see MaggieD's mother. There we gave the little kitchen a slap of emulsion to freshen it up. Back home with an armful of fresh rhubarb (duly stewed and some made into crumbles for tea). After tea, we headed up to Stirling University and had a walk round Airthrey Loch on the campus. This image caught my eye, the monument framed by trees and looming over all. For those who haven't been, it is well worth the effort. Good historical displays and information and superb views all around (on a clear day you can see from one side of Scotland to the other.) If you are having a "staycation" this year and are considering coming north, plan to break your journey and check out the Stirling area - there is so much to see and do.
John, stop now, you're sounding like a tourist brochure.
Have a great holiday weekend.
