Towbar
Another sunny day off, another bike ride.
Thought we would do something different so I got the bike rack out, loaded the car up with four bikes and we drove to Riccall, near Selby. From there we rode the very flat ten mile cycle path to a village just outside York and back again. Packed lunch was had along the way. The cycle path follows the old railway track which ran from Selby to York. Its away from any traffic, with fields and woods on either side so is ideal for kids. First time we have been but will certainly be going again.
The picture is of my bike (my old mountain bike) hooked up to Louis' bike via a big red bar. It lifts Louis' front wheel off the ground and locks his handle bars in place making a sort of trailer bike. The idea is you can unhook the rear bike so that the child can ride a bit by themselves. Louis is not quite there yet. He can sort of ride a bike but I don't think he knows about brakes and how to use them. It is not in fact Louis' bike but Alana's old bike. Louis doesn't like the love hearts and flowers so he's done his best to cover them all up with Power Ranger stickers. Its not doing his street cred much good, poor thing.
After the bike ride and after several detours to avoid accidents and closed roads we made it to the brother in laws for tea. All in all a nice day out.
