Golden Boy

As Good As It Gets

He doesn't need to be loved by everybody.
That's not what he's about.
But he does need to be loved by somebody
and there has to be no doubt

that whoever loves him loves him;
on his brightest day, through his darkest night;
loves him whether he's bathed in a golden glow
or exposed in an unfavourable light.

This love has to be unconditional.
Like the love we give to our pets.
And he promises, that in return,
he will give as good as he gets.
