jack
Today's blip is a simple one, my son Jack and his mum Kate relaxing on the sofa ... Nice!
Jack was born with congenital bilateral cataracts and, at the age of six months old, had to have both of his lenses surgically removed. As his eyes were so small it was not possible at the time to put in implants and so he has to wear his Mr Magoo glasses all the time. This poses a significant challenge when it comes to getting a photograph of him. As you can see, the glare from his lenses can be a little difficult to deal with.
Great Ormond Street hospital - where he had his operations - have been fabulous, and at some time in the not too distant future they will be helping us to decide about where to go next with the management of his vision (contact lenses or implants).
Anyway, as this is the first blip I've posted of a human being I could not have chosen a better subject. There will be more Jack blips to come ... I promise :0)
