Baby Bootcamp

I left work a little early today to spend the afternoon with Geneva's mom (see Wednesday's blip) and the triplets' mom and their babies! This photo unfortunately only shows the three trips but I think someone got a good shot of all four babies together - the only one missing is my baby (still in my belly for another 3.5 months).

It was truly a Baby Bootcamp afternoon for me. I changed two cloth diapers (I had zero experience with pre-folds and covers) and thanks to my quick reflexes narrowly avoided getting peed on by mere nano-seconds (I learned an important lesson, always cover the "goods" when undiapered!); fed three bottles; and tried to burp several times (was unsuccessful - need to work on my technique!). The best part of the day was just rocking and cuddling the babies when they were in their milk commas. So snuggly and soft!!

After I left I felt much more confident in my mommy skills but also a bit overwhelmed and a little stressed. It is not fun when you have a room full of crying/fussy babies!! I have to hand it to the mom of the triplets, Rose, she truly has her hands full! Any mom of a newborn is a busy mom, but when you have three there is ZERO down time. But she is doing remarkably well - all babies are healthy and gaining weight (nearly twice their birth size).

Oh, and it's been decided. Geneva is promised to Soul (bottom right corner) and Alana (my baby-to-be) will marry Ever (top) . . . Someone's going to have to have another girl for Pace. :-)
