Union Terrace Gardens

My wife and I wandered through the gardens today after a lunch at the foyer: I was reminded again what a special place I think this is and how much I dislike the plan to grass it over and build a new plaza. Some of these trees must be eighty years old or more. Surely there must be a better solution for the space than turning it into a car park?
