Spring Tulip

At last the tulips are coming out. This one is in a planter on our deck. It was a lovely spring day today and I took this photo in the morning before the day began.

We shopped a bit to get ready for family and friends for dinner tonight. I made scalloped sweet potatoes with leeks, ham and English cheddar cheese. (Yum!) Also served salad and good whole grain bread and tiramisu and mousse cake from our local market's bakery for dessert.

We picked Nora up at the airport on her trip home from Las Vegas where she participated in Bailey's birth. (She's a nurse so she was able to help out and be there while her granddaughter was born.)

Friends Rick and Judy arrived along with my brother Steve and his friend Kai. There were seven of us and we did lots of talking and laughing at dinner. It was a great evening. We also talked on the phone with Dave who is still in Las Vegas with the kids and Bailey. We hoped to skype with them but it didn't work out.

All in all it was a great day.
