Dubious heirloom

This cheap glass dog ornament once belonged to great-grandmother Stukins and came to me when my mother died. Pretty ugly and I don't like dogs but haven't been able to bring myself to throw it away. My mother wisely kept it hidden and I never knew of its existence before we had to clear out her things. Lots of things like this (mostly more tasteful) she had labelled or given a brief description/instructions.
