Great minds ...
Like lots of other people, we decided to have a walk along the Kennet and Avon canal today. We went from Bradford-on-Avon to the aquaduct at Avoncliff, with the intention of popping into the Cross Guns, but the queue was so long that we couldn't even get into the pub!
We walked park of the way back through Avoncliff woods, which were full of bluebells and wild garlic, then crossed the canal into the country park that runs alongside the River Avon. We visited Bradford-on-Avon's 14th Century Tithe Barn before finding a pub that we could get into.
Finally, we stopped by the lock at Bradford-on-Avon to watch some canal boats going through. Our younger son Daniel couldn't resist the chance to lend a hand!
This photo shows the boats that were waiting to go through the lock - worth a look in large to see just how busy it was. There are some more photos here.
I hope everyone's enjoying Easter Day as much as we are!
