Small white on blossom

Another really lovely day. C and I had a walk near Hexham Racecourse and in part of Dipton Wood this morning. What a delight. The wood contains beech, ash, birch, spruce, hazel, etc. It is a good mixture. We sat for a while and watched a pair of nuthatches feeding on insects in the trees.

This afternoon C worked hard weeding the garden. She loves weeding (what a star friend!). I made a chicken casserole and now we are going to settle to watch TV.

We saw this butterfly by the roadside on our walk and it kindly rested for a while, enjoying the sun, just as we were. The competitor for the blip was a group of smiling sheep who were resting in the shade.........
