the boat painters
A glorious day cruising up the coast. Elevenses at Runswick Bay and lunch at Staithes. This couple were slapping a new coat of paint on Dignity, their boat. I could see the grass was quite high around it and asked how often it was used. Quite sniffily they said it hadn't moved since last October and was moved up to the car park for the winter - of course. But now the wood was 'opening up like a sieve' and the cracks needed some attention. Filling in the splits with paint didn't seem like the best way forward to me, but what do I know about such complex nautical details.
