Through the Eyes of a Child
Happy Easter everyone! It's always been one of my favorites; I think because it is a day of undying hope and spring is finally, finally here! I attended a sunrise service this morning (6:30! Go me!) which was good. I had never been to one before. It was fairly short, but nice. This church loves to sing hymns, which is cool although I grew up singing contemporary songs so for some reason, I always think of the movie, Prancer, and Christmas and them singing hymns...okay, wrong holiday.
Anyway :P I had dinner with my friend Faith and her family down in Belfast. Completely lovely to spend time with them. I met a kindred spirit in Faith's 5-year old niece, Lizzie (pictured here). This girl was me at five years old blond hair and all...imaginative, center of attention, had an affinity for pretty dresses, and just about always managed to get them dirty somehow or other. We had an egg hunt for her and her little brother, Mike. So, here she is seeking out one of the eggs. I hadn't participated in an egg hunt probably since I was 8 or 9. Spending time with a kid just reminds you of what is important. With my life so full of events and deadlines, it was so good to see life through her eyes (and to run around and play too) :)
