Gentian blue

A day of honest garden toil. A couple of hours this morning spent hoeing in the allotment, prior to my wife sowing various seeds. Afternoon spent mowing grass and weeding in the back garden. Towards the end of the afternoon, the sky cleared, the sun shone and it was glorious. And this is what it's all for. To witness the incredible colours that the Alpine bed produces; in this case the brilliant blue of Gentiana sino-ornata.
