Forth Tourist

What a lovely day! Up early and down to Port Edgar to meet B and launch the boat. Carpe Diem has just been serviced and we wanted to take her out for a spin to check everything is ship-shape (!) before we take her out on a dive trip.

Rather than just blast about for an hour we decided to do a tour of a few Forth Islands. We headed off to Inchcolm Island first where I went ashore to take a few snaps of the Abbey (top right), and have a chat with the wardens. Then we headed over to Inchkeith Island, where we spotted a wreck, possibly the Switha, a fisheries protection vessel which sank in 1980. This is the bow section (bottom right).

Coming back we watched seals basking on the buoyage markers, and heard this guy building scaffolding on the Forth Bridge (bottom left). Then one final shot of the bridges (top left) before recovering the boat and towing her back to the boat shed.

Carpe Diem is in fine fettle for our trip to Loch Torridon, we celebrated with a bacon bagel in the cafe! A really lovely day . . . now to wash the dive kit from yesterday!
