lands end sunset

Sunset at 8.30pm this evening looking west from Whitesands Bay with waves splashing over Cowloe Rocks. Next landfall is the east seaboard of the USA (or maybe the Silly Isles but they're small and easy to miss).

Had to shoot a lands end sunset - they're famous - hope this one is a bit different. Got my trousers all wet kneeling on the sand to get low enough to catch the waves splashing up in the foreground.

Lots of swallows stooping about today amazing flyers and very tricky to photograph on the wing. We had a walk and picnic on Gurnard Head, in a profusion of wild flowers. It was wild and beautiful. Then back to Sennen for surfing and cook out in the sunset. Can't believe the continuing fine weather much better that mid summer the past few years. Let's hope it holds for a few more days.
