Taste Life Twice

Announcing the Copaiba Literary Review

A random meeting at a writers conference earlier this year has all come down to this: a new literary journal is entering the world, and I am fulfilling my dream of many years to do work that supports our veterans and the creative arts.

Today we launched our site, www.copaiba.org, and began accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction that explore what it means to live in times and places of conflict. Our mission is to document the truths of war and to seek peace and healing for veterans, their families, and everyone affected by conflict. In addition to publishing the quarterly literary review, we'll host writing workshops for veterans and their families.

If you, dear friends in Blipland, would like to support us, you can like us on Facebook, and help spread the word to readers and writers who may be interested in our project.

Though I have a master's degree in publishing and was somewhat prepared for what launching a journal would entail, the entire process of founding a nonprofit organization and getting everything up and running has been stranger, more intimidating, and more fun than I ever imagined.

Many thanks to everyone who has been involved so far. I hope that you all can find a way to pursue your dreams and live the best life you could imagine.
