Art Deco in Ophir

We went out for a drive through to Ophir today while the rest of the crew rode part of the Otago Rail Trail. Deb, Mark and Matt did the race yesterday and needed to blow out a few cobwebs while Megan was going for her biggest ride ever, shes a novice in these guys company, and she did so well both Mrs O and I were truly impressed with her effort. Good job Megan!!!!!
Lunch at the Chatto Creek pub was there reward and well deserved it was.
I photographed the buildings of Ophir, an old Central Otago town and this was the one that caught my eye.

It got me thinking....

I wonder why with all the old buildings that Ophir is famous for why this is the only one showing the Art Deco influence?
Why is it that it was the one that caught my eye?
Of all the images of Ophir Ive seen I havent ever seen one of this building, does it not fit the mould?
I liked it thats all that matters........
