I could not decide which blip to post - they are so contrasting.
But I eventually went for the industrial, harsh, utilitarian, almost soviet looking blip of Oldbury Nuclear power station. This power station is on it's last legs, they keep having 1 or 2 year extensions, but is due to be de-activated soon.
Plans are however afoot for a much bigger (4 times) beast.
I think the power station, with its circular, almost turrets, is an interesting building. It has a lot of clutter in the foreground which I have taken out by dropping behind a bank (and very nearly in to the Severn river itself - which is a different story) It is not a building you can make look pretty. I have deliberately been a bit harsh on the vignette button (darker corners) to try to create a sense of menace and foreboding. Similarly the composition is meant to convey a sense of size and scale. Please make judgements and be critical
Blipped on a morning walk along the severn way from Oldbury towards Berkeley.
