flower
I have absolutely no idea what this is. We have loads of them that pop up each year in our flower bed. But we didn't plant them! And we're not entirely sure that we want them - if truth be told - so technically they become weeds. This is, of course, if you allow that a weed is any plant that grows where it is not wanted.
Our lawn, for example, is riddled with dandelions and no amount of effort on our part seems to have the slightest effect on their numbers. For years we have bemoaned the fact that the lawn is riddled with weeds. This year, however, we have decided that we want dandelions in the lawn. As a result they are no longer weeds but ... well whatever the opposite of weed is!
You must understand that our lawn doesn't look any better - but we feel a whole lot happier with it knowing that the dandelions are growing there with our express permission and blessings :0)
