Lovely Lilac

Grey skies this morning set the tone of the day. Much cooler too so I had to put my 'clout' on again!
Set off this morning to visit my old friend in York. She is not in good health at all and still mourning the loss of her husband. Such a sad situation. She has inspired me in so many ways over the years and now she talks of the pointlessness of living. I took lunch and we talked of this and that. She has been doing a bit of clearing out hoping for a move before long. I came back with 'stuff' for Oxfam and much of it reflected on her creative talents. Fabrics and embroidery books, books on painters and painting, glamourous hairslides and other remnants of past style. Fortunately her sense of style still remains strong so in spite of everything her toenails are painted red!
Late when I got home and wondered what to blip. I cut this lilac from the garden yesterday and it somehow matched my mood so here it is.
