Inkwell passion

We bought this at an antique shop in Flavigny, Burgundy (where the film Chocolat was shot). I loved it the minute I saw it and have a bit of a thing for old inkwells. On reflection, I suspect that this was made quite recently and the shop probably puts another one in every time one is sold. But I don't care! It reminds me of some wonderful times in a beautiful part of France.

Am not sure where the feather came from - I pick them up all over the place. Feathers, stones, twigs - maybe I'm trying to nest.
