This Ole House

Was made for playing games like: mums and babies; princesses and witches and run screaming from the spiders/flies/bumblebees that might be lurking within. We bought this house for Hannah just before her wee sister arrived. We figured that we probably wouldn't have that much spare money once we had another child to raise and that this might be the last "big" present we could buy her for some time. It was a good choice. All three kids have had great fun playing with it over the last few years. They've eaten their lunch in it (there's a little picnic table at the side of it), they've tried to move into it (Hannah in a particularly stroppy tantrum decided she'd rather live in the garden than in the house) and they've played out their wee stories and games with great gusto in it.

But alas, they have outgrown it and so we're clearing out it, and some of their other "baby" toys. And as proud as I am to watch them "scootering" about the front pavements, or racing up and down the street in the bikes, I'll always be a wee bit sad that they've outgrown just playing in the back garden - because that seemed to go in the blink of an eye.
