Forsythia in Bloom

The Forsythia shrubs on the side of our yard have exploded with color over the last couple of days. Nothing brightens up a cold, gray rain soaked day like the vibrant yellow flowers on these branches. I had to severely cut back the shrubs this spring due to the damage from heavy snows. During the summer these shrubs look rather unattractive but I remind myself how the bright sunshine yellow of the flowers can warm up the dreariest of springs days.
