Yes,yet another celeb (is this journal is in danger of turning into 'Hello'?).

To-night it was Michael Palin (described by chair Alistair Moffat as 'now the second most famous Palin in the world') at the National Library of Scotland talking about the things that have inspired him - inspirations as diverse as Edinburgh itself to the Goons, via Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf and the Night Mail film. He just as you expect him to be interesting and funny (and tall) and justifiably a bit irritated by the malfunctioning sound system. He was given a facsimile of a page from David Livingstone's Missionary Diaries as a gift. Had an interesting chat with one of NLS staff about the new technique for deciphering his last diary written on newspaper with berry juice as described on the recent BBC programme 'Click'.

I had a really good seat in the second front row until a large man called Jim came and sat in front of me in the reserved seats. This made getting a clear blip without Jim's shoulder in the corner a bit difficult.

As well as Michael Palin my stalker was there, aka Ian Rankin -the 4th event I've been too since November that he's been at too, or am I stalking him?

Dentist first thing, tooth out. She said I was very brave. Mouth hurt all day. Did some gardening to take my mind of it, then the chiropractor to look at the x-rays of my trapped nerve and misaligned vertebra. I now have a schedule of appointments. Then after NLS back to Southside Choir for a sing - only 4 weeks till the concert.
