Linseed crop
After having taken a close-up of the linseed flower the other day, here are a few more flowers! The crop is quite difficult to photograph satisfactorily as the flowers are small and reflect the sunlight. May be I should try before they close up for the night and the light has changed.
This plant has been grown for 7,000 years for its oil and Pliny, the Roman, said in the first century AD: "What area of active life is there in which linseed is not used, and what produce of the earth can show greater marvels?"
Our new bull from Devon arrived this morning. He is a two year old and his name is Edouardo, a Blonde d'Aquitaine. He lumbered out of the trailer very quietly and walked over to the Herefords as if he had always been there!
