So Long, Sucker!

While a certain about of pomp, and presumably no small about of circumstance, was taking place in town, I went to the supermarket.
The Hoover Building, built in 1932 & later immortalised in song by Elvis Costello, is now home to a branch of Tesco (where isn't?). Actually, I think they've done a fair job of preserving the Art Deco splendour of the building, and perhaps helped save it from the same fate as the Firestone Building, which stood nearby until it was disgracefully demolished over a bank holiday weekend, a day before its listed status came into effect.
