Quarry pond.
Visited a local area of beauty that is known as Carn Grey at Trethurgy St Austell Cornwall. I came across an area which I presume was part of the old quarry (photo), which seems to be used as a fishing lake and a popular walking area. Once you get out of the car and look away from this place you can see Carlyon Bay of Cornwall which is an outstanding beauty/view on its own.
It is such a beautiful area.
But yesterday some how part of the walking area had been set on fire, Presumably by accident as when we drove by, there was helicopters there and lots of smoke which I would have thought could have been seen for miles around. I found the area that had been damaged and I would say it was about the size of 2-3 football pitches. It looks so sad to see that part looking like that. But hopefully not to far in the future it will be back to normal.
