Woo, street party
I think I could pretty confidentially claim today as the best day of university so far.
A few days ago we met a few of Nicole's friends (she knows everyone) and they invited us to a street party outside their flat for the wedding. I'm extremely glad we went there first, because it led to a brilliant chain of events.
- Poor excuse for a street party (far too 'local') but it was nice that the local neighbours invited us for a drink and some food.
- Pint at King's Head.
- More savoured pint outside at Chainlocker by the harbour.
- Fish and chips on the beach.
- Muchos clowning around on the beach.
- (poor excuse for wedding...) cake on the beach.
- Much-better-than-expected street party ever. Amazing atmosphere, very hustle-y bustle-y. Policemen trying but failing to control the crowd*.
- Ridiculously long-winded walk to the co-op for scrummy makeshift white-wine spritzer.
- More street party delightfulness with no more policemen.
- After advice from someone on the walk to the co-op, Jacob's Ladder for some extremely enjoyable live music.
- Sobering up chat with the 'new friends' at their flat before heading home.
- and here I am. Can't quite believe how fun today turned out to be, nothing like I had expected.
Yay for Falmouth.
* It turns out earlier in the day when we weren't there a student started on a policeman and got pepper-sprayed and tazered!
