Pillbox Hike View

We decided we had to be active this afternoon after eating a deliciously heavy breakfast at the Koa Pancake House. My local friend Kelly took us on the Pillbox Hike in Lanikia. This steep trail afforded some amazing views of Kailua to the north and Waimanalo Bay to the south. The primitive trail was a challenge, especially in flip flops (or slippers as they are called in Hawai'i), to clamber up and down, but the views from the abandoned pillboxes at the top of the ridge were more than worth all the sweating and slipping.
