Hidden Treasures

I just love surprise blessings! And I think there are more for us to have aswell... but maybe we just need to slow down and take a look. I was sitting in the garden yesterday, just taking a few moments to enjoy the sun and the beauty of nature, and that's when I spotted this flower (above) it was tucked away by the fence, you would completely miss it in the busyness of the day. That's when I thought how many blessings do we miss each day because we are too busy, too distracted, too tired!

I had a nice surprise later in the evening too. My friend was on facebook looking for a model for her hairdressing class. I've cut hair in the past and people have been so patient and trusting with me, so I thought I would return the favour and be her volunteer. But it was a great blessing to me also as it was to her. I got a free cut and blow dry and also a deep conditioner treatment! (My hair really needed it!)

I love that about blessings; that when we bless others you get blessed too. I think there's something about love that when you give some out it multiplies and you can't help but feel the love also. Like in the feeding of the 5000, Jesus was moved with compassion and gave to God what He had... and God multiplied that which was started out of love for others. And just like this miracle here... Jesus was open to God moving... how many times have we come across a difficult situation and then opted for the easy way out instead of being open to be moved with compassion and see God's love and power in action?!! So from the big to the small I want to be open and available to see, receive and be the blessings that surround us everyday :)
