Thoughtful

Theres lots of photos of Katie smiling, grinning, pulling amusing little faces. Because thats a huge part of who Katie is. The smiliest little lady. But there's also a very thoughtful, calm part of her. When something really captures her, she'll concentrate so carefully for a very long time. Admittedly, this often entails something she shouldnt be doing - pulling each wipe individually from the pack, drawing on her face. But other times, its a mission she has set herself on, or something she looks at and is just completely entranced by.
Here, she was watching something out of the front door.
We were up early today. A bit too early for my liking- 4.50- but she did sleep through other than that. She'd had a lateish nap yesterday, so thats probably behind it. We went out to the play cafe and saw some friends there. She spent more time sat eating toast and grapes than playing, but still had fun smiling and waving at her friends. She was getting tired by the time we headed off though, so I bought a paper knowing she'd fall asleep in the car and drove us to swimming.
She was SO delighted that her and Ava are now back in the same swimming class. As soon as they were let in the pool, Katie launched herself in and then splashed like crazy and waved at Ava. She was having a really great time in the class, we did some new things again this week. All was going wonderfully until they tried to introduce woggles. We used them a tiny bit in baby class, but not a lot. Well, Katie was NOT amused. She thinks she is totally capable of swimming on her own and something like a woggle apparently just gets in the way. She pushed it away, I brought it back, she pushed it away and said bye bye to it. She didn't settle until the woggles had been moved right away from their area. She had a bit of a play after the class and then started asking for banana. I always take her one in the bag for after swimming and recently she's asked for it as we've been in the shower. But today she couldnt wait!
We came home and have had a real good play, and a bit of sorting out. I realised her baby box had erupted out of the box so sorted out a new box to be that. She enjoyed playing in the box that is now the new baby box, and sat in it for about 20 minutes doing various things and wasnt' too chuffed to realise I wanted to put things in it, other than her!
