Legless in Devon

Before leaving Devon this morning I found this little fella in my parents garden.

It's not a snake. it's a Slow Worm.

I'd never seen one before but a quick google clarified the fact. One of the many "interesting" things that make is a legless lizard rather than snake is that it has eye-lids and can blink.

Apparently there are no blinking snakes!
