YACKETY YAk
this big old lump of a Russian made aircraft is
a two seat Yak 11. based on a WW2 design.
it was just taxying out to get ready to take off..
the engine sounded lovely as it purred away and
after take off it did a 250mph fypast. well lovely.
the blip was taken at Sleap airfield in Shropshire.
i went for a flight in a similar aircraft(Yak 52) a few years
ago with one of Russia`s best aerobatics champions
at Halfpenny Green airfield.
just as we lifted of he flipped the aircraft on its side
and we went around half the airfield with one wing
pointing to the sky and the other cutting the daisys.
we were ruddy low.. after that we climbed to a safe
hight and threw the Yak all over the sky.
then we beat the airfield up on return in true WW2
style..
fun fun fun in the sun
