Terris Novalis (Theodolite)
Terris Novalis by Tony Cragg is two mammoth engineering tools, a theodolite and an engineer's level which are 20 times the scale of the original instruments. Made of stainless steel, the instruments sit on giant animal feet supports. The 'Terris Novalis' sculptures are located at Consett on what was once the site of the largest steelworks in Europe and they are widely viewed locally as a fitting monument and landmark to the steel industry which was once synonymous with Consett.
Met a friend today who i haven't seen for 18 months but have known for almost 15 years. Funny how you just sort of pick up where you left off isn't it.
I've wanted to take this shot of the Theodolite for some time. Infact i wanted the shot to show both engineering tools but there were two clowns young girls taking photos of each other being silly by the sculptures so I didn't get a decent shot of the 'engineer's level'. Perhaps another blip for another time.
We then drove round the moors taking shots of the sunset and returned home at around 9.30pm.
Does anyone else go out the house at 8pm looking for blips and driving round and round the countryside with their partner and also with their baby in the back fast asleep :-) Probably not haha
