Walthamstow to Waltham Abbey

This was the final destination: Waltham Abbey. Fourteen miles or 22.2 kilometers round trip through Lea Valley Park. It was a beautiful bike ride. And here's one of the beautiful stained glass windows inside.

Waltham Abbey is a Norman Church. The first building was constructed there in 1060. It was apparently the last church in the country to be dissolved by Henry the VII in 1540. The majority of this building was built in 1120. The tower was built in 1556 and was the only tower built in England during the reign of Mary Tudor.
