Visiting trenchermen!
Henriech, Friedhelm & Good ole Malc, joined us this evening for a gourmet supper, as he had with him two German friends plus wife Jane, we thought we should start on a Scottish theme.
Haggis (addressed by me!!!) with the Tattie & Neeps plus single Malt gravy followed by Smoked salmon more than one way (with a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand) after a pause, Beef Bourgigone & trimmings with St Emillion (Grand Crue '05) another pause & discussion (French way Cheese or English Sweet) we followed with Hestons Royal Trifle and later Apple Pie & Calvados, There followed a lengthy break prior to three cheese & Port (Poacher, Wensledale & Camembert) after which we needed to try various digestives ranging from Mirrabellen (Snapps) Calvados, plus more Champagne!!!!!
The Mint Tea was most peoples choice at the end hence sober as a judge and just in time to Blip for today.
Will catch up tomorrow, all the best for the Bank Holiday, my theme will be food and drink for the next few days!!!!
