Carmina Burana
A late Blip. On Saturday evening I went to a world class performance of Carmina Burana by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the WA Choral Society - about 150 voices. The Perth Concert Hall is known to have among the best acoustics in the world (better than the Sydney Opera House). I left the ticket booking a little late and could only get tickets in the gods. Here's a snap of the WASO tuning up but the choir have not yet got into place- they sit either side of the organ. After the show I had a few friends over for a late supper (poached salmon). There was a real celebrarory mood as we were all on a real high after the concert. We cranked on until 2.00am, way past my normal bedtime. A truly great day.
