Sign of the Camino de Santiago

We are cycling the Santiago de Compostella.

This shell is the symbol of this pilgrimage and is seen on all information relevant to this ancient route here seen as a way mark.

The shell was used to prove a pilgrim had completed the route.

The yellow arrow was also used to help direction. Yes , I know, it looks like emulsion!
