Sunny daze
A trip to the West-side is on the cards for this weekend. And the sunny weather stuck with us all the way, despite the frequency of rain in these parts.
It was all a bit hush hush as we were attending a surprise birthday bash, and no one knew who knew what etc etc etc. The only thing that everyone seemed to know, was that no one expected it to be kept a surprise given some of the folk in the know.
How wrong we were, and it made for a genuinely surprised expression across the face of the successfully surprised. I don't reckon I've attended a successful surprise party before, but this was definitely one. The shocked/taken aback look remained on her face for a while before it all sunk in. Well done to the man known to some as Papa Franco.
Adding to this a day of firsts* was my first taste of Pieri's Milk Ice. It's like ice cream, but a bit lighter. Very nice, although there is no messing around with this stuff, no time for chatting or anything social like that, it's not got the non-drip staying power (especially in the beaming sun).
I've heard rumours that our hosts putting us up for the night may be some interesting gin, tomorrow will be set aside for investigating, although I fear they may have other ideas.
* first successful surprise party, first milk ice, first day in the West with no rain... Oh, ok, but you've got to admit it does rain a lot there
