BBQ
The schools are off until Wednesday and I'm not starting my new contract until...well, who knows at this stage! So, it was another family day and that is a rare thing these days. It started with the dreaded weekly shop, which we had been putting off for too long and doing daily shops instead (don't believe the TV ads, it isn't easier or better), but we got that out the way fairly quickly and headed back out for some time in the sun. Jason really enjoyed just wandering around the Meadows yesterday so we decided to head back today and just take a casual stroll.
It started with the same route as yesterday, from Bruntsfield down to Peter's Yard at Quartermile for coffee and Marc's 2:30 feed, but we turned left when we went back into the Meadows and headed to the larger playground at the other end this time. It was mobbed but Jason still had great fun and we managed to sit around in the sun again for a while. The longer stroll back to the car from the far end of the Meadows was nice in the afternoon sun too.
Once we were home, I fired up our first barbecue of the year. It's just a shame that it takes longer to get the charcoal ready than it does to actually cook the small amount we eat for dinner or I'd barbecue more often. I might have to go back to a gas barbecue (sssshhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone).
