As American as apple pie

I chose to work in the yard again instead of watching the news repeat over and over again. "Obama killed Osama". I am most definitely in the minority when I say that I find no reason to celebrate another human's death. It weighs heavily on my heart that I am the exception to the rule. I realize Osama Bin Laden was held responsible for 9/11. Letting him sit in jail for the rest of his life, held under "infidel" laws would have tortured his thoughts relentlessly.

I pray for those who were involved in his killing - those on our side and on his. I fear this may be the start of something rather than the end.

For the record, this is the best apple pie ever. It is my reward for working so hard in the garden today and yesterday.

This song has been playing in my head today since I heard the news this morning.
