Pursuit Of Happyness

By happyness

Hidden

Hidden beneath a mask of leaves
lies a wonder unseen by the eyes

It has sat there for years
waiting to emerge

and than I saw it
revealed in the light

Not a rake, or a few tennis balls
it was something more

A soul encased in leaves
with a solid metal core

I looked inside and all I could see
were memories lost and gone

I couldn't tell what they were from
but they were of me

And than I realized, that as you age on
and your memories are saved

You lose others to a place gone
and on you pave

In your weird life
all you miss

and i'll look back on a first date
a kiss
