A heron!!!

This is Castletown - the ancient capital of the Isle of Man - and this is the harbour with the tide out. We were enjoying a walk around the town and I was photographing the boats and swans when quite accidentally caught this heron in flight.

We followed down to the harbour mouth and I took a few shots there, it returned to the shallows of the harbour searching for food and I got my clearest shots ever, but I still liked this one the best.

Sadly we watched a pair of swans very busily building a nest at the base of the harbour wall - well below the tide line!!

It was a lovely day in the south of the island
