Fortune made and lost

Thought I had it made today on discovering this old edition of the Beano. It's dated - No. 1 July 30th. 1938. Google told me that there are only twelve or thirteen first editions known to be in existence, and the last one auctioned went for £12,500 in 2004. However there was a commemorative edition issued by the Sunday Post a few years ago and the only difference is that it had staples holding it together and two fewer pages than the original. Damn Google, it doesn't even give you time to be elated. Mine has staples and I am still a Pauper.
