War of the Thistles 2011 Day 2...
Day two of the War of the Thistles put me on the long (for scottish drivers) road up to Aberdeen and the wonderful Transition Extreme park.
We've been doing the War up at Transition Extreme since it opened. They've added wee bits and bobs to it each time I've been up there so it always feels a wee bit different.
Again the skating was outstanding but today I found the decision (although it wasn't solely mine thankfully) on the skater of the day, rather harder. The person who won the second half of the trophy and skater of the day prize money was an english guy called Manhead. This is Andy Scott who is a Thistles regular from Bolton I think. A very good very rider and also winner of the best trick prize in the bowl. This shot is of his backside footplant on the diving board but he won the money for a frontside invert on the diving board. A very hard trick at the best of times that involves a one handed hand stand on the diving board with your his whole body facing out of the bowl so it would have been very hard for him to see his landing.
Outstanding seeing it done.
